Golomb Rulers: Set of 5 Rulers

A Golomb ruler is a special kind of ruler unlike your regular ruler. It has some of the marks and numbers missing and still it can measure distances in one go without any repeatition. Unlike a normal ruler with evenly spaced marks, a Golomb ruler may look irregular, but it’s designed very cleverly such that every distance between any two marks is unique—no two pairs measure the same length. For example, imagine a Golomb ruler with marks at 0, 1, 4, and 6 units. Even though “2 units” isn’t directly marked, you can measure it by using the gap between 4 and 6 (since 6 − 4 = 2). Similarly, the distance between 1 and 6 gives 5 units—all different! So, with fewer marks, you can still measure lengths by thinking about the gaps, making it a fun and brain-teasing way to learn creatively.
